A Brief History of Our Gender-Inclusive Organizations The Multicultural Greek Council at the University of Virginia is a vibrant and diverse organization that brings together Greek-letter organizations from various national associations such as the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO), the National APIDA Panhellenic Association (NAPA), the National Multicultural Greek Council (NMGC), and the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), as well as independent and local organizations. Sigma Omicron Rho LGBTQ & Allied Gender-Inclusive Diaternity (Independent) The Alpha chapter of Sigma Omicron Rho LGBTQ & Allied Gender-Inclusive Diaternity was originally established on grounds in 2009 as a local and independent co-ed fraternity. In 2015, it became the 12th overall organization to join the Multicultural Greek Council. The gender-inclusive organization began its process of getting incorporated nationally in 2023 and rebranded itself as a diaternity (meaning "transcending boundaries") that same year. It is not a member of any any national conference or council.
